“I have been taking Yoga from Emily since February, and she is easily and by far the best teacher I have had in Portland. She is amazing at explaining how to get into poses. She not only explains it but also demonstrates in a slow manner that is easy to follow. I have been able to get into poses that I would never have thought I’d be able to. I love her teaching style because it provides just the right amount of challenge. I always leave her class feeling like I got a workout and a whole body benefit. I started doing yoga for the physical part of it. Emily, however, has also taught me the benefit of the mental part of it too. She usually starts off class with a short lecture on “life lessons”. While normally I find these to be cheesy and to not apply to me, Emily has showed me the benefits of these lessons. I highly, highly recommend taking an Emily Light yoga class.”

“Emily is one of the best yoga teachers I have come across. Her classes have a terrific balance of prana, yoga philosophy, and dynamic movement. She often structures her teachings around a central theme for a series of weeks allowing students to obtain a more in depth understanding of a topic. Her Vinyasas are always creative and incorporate an interesting mixture of classical sun solutes with more spontaneous flows. Be prepared to sweat.   Although I have never seen Emily formally as a holistic nutritionist, in passing, she has offered me very valuable advice which has helped me resolve some long standing imbalances.”
