"I was introduced to Emily as an instructor in her regular yoga classes. I was first drawn to her because of her beautiful voice! Later, I started seeing Emily for yoga therapy. I had a couple of persisting issues that I could never seem to conquer: a chronic hip problem and an upper back stress injury. I had been to see many chiropractors and even a naturopath, but was never able to find a lasting solution. When I went to see Emily, it struck me how much she really cared about my issues. She is a great listener, this quality, I think, is what makes her stand out in the healing community. She was also insightful enough to draw out a couple of additional issues that I had never thought to seek her help on, such as stress and anxiety. The other practitioners that I saw could help to relieve my pain in the short term, but Emily has helped me get to the root cause of it and really understand what was going on in my body. That level of understanding is what allows me to address the issues in a long term, sustainable way. Emily's words of wisdom and prescriptions of movement have helped me immensely in my life; not only in addressing the hip and upper back pain, but also in helping to lower my anxiety and gain some new mantra's for life. I am so grateful for everything that Emily has brought to me. Thank you Emily!!"

"I first met Emily Light when I went to a yoga class as a rank beginner.  I had suffered a fairly severe shoulder injury 6 months previously, but had given up on ever restoring full range of motion and was just going to yoga as a way to feel healthier in general.  I could only raise my left arm to shoulder height and suffered very sharp, unexpected pain when moving that arm even if I kept it low and close. Emily's yoga class was absolutely awesome!  I felt pushed hard but without judgement and with permission to rest when I needed. Her experience and knowledge was abundantly clear and so after a couple of classes, I asked her if she would see me one-on-one about my shoulder. After my first visit, she gave me a very thorough description of my injury and the muscles and body parts involved and some exercises to help. Her attitude all along was respectful, interested and genuinely concerned.  She was quite optimistic that I would recover my range of motion. I did the exercises faithfully (about 10-15minutes a day) and within a week had restored full range of motion with no pain!  I am so so so very thankful that Emily worked with me as I really had given up and had been willing to just go the rest of my life without using my left arm hardly at all. I had worked with a physical therapist after the original injury, and he was somewhat helpful, but I never felt as connected or committed to actually doing what he said as I did with Emily and so had stopped going to him without resolving my issue. I have continued to see Emily for yoga classes and for a knee injury as well. She is a fantastic consultant for all sorts of health issues and I recommend her without reservation. Thanks so much, Emily!!"

"I feel incredibly blessed to have found Emily Light as a yoga teacher. Emily is genuine, insightful, extremely knowledgeable, and she practices what she preaches. Instead of working on an esoteric, theoretical level, Emily's help is practical, accessible, impactful, and easy to understand. Her own openness and humanity serve as constant reminders that these practices work and that change is possible. Through asana, nutrition recommendations, self-care rituals, meditations, and yoga therapy tools, Emily has helped me address anxiety, self-doubt, and the upheavals from multiple life changes. Unlike other routes I've taken to deal with life's struggles, the tools Emily has taught me have gone beyond helping me with the critical moments in life and have improved my attitude toward life in general."
